The Guoguang Bus Company starts from the long distance bus depot a block west from the Taipei Train Station. For $80 buy a ticket to Lungtan on the Jhudong-bound Guoguang Bus.

The Hsinchu-bound Yalien Bus Company's regular route begins on Zhongxiao East Road 100 meters west of the Lienho Pao (near Municipal Office). You can catch it at any of the city bus stops along RenAi Road between DunHua and JianGuo roads, on XinSheng between XinYi Road and National Taiwan University, in front of the GongGuan MRT stop, and at several stops in Jingmei and XinDian. Fare is $100 to Lungtan, paid when the ticket lady boards the bus at the last stop in Taipei before getting on the freeway.

And then there's the Tailien Bus Company, starting at Sungshan Airport, with stops at ZhongXiao DunHua MRT and other city bus stops on DunHua Road, JiLong Road, GongGuan, as well as XiuLang Elementary School in Yungho. Fare is $90 (driver cannot make change).

ALL BUSES: Upon leaving the freeway in Longtan, you can either get off at the first stop (100 meters from the freeway interchange) or at the downtown stop. If you get off at the downtown stop, you will find plenty of taxis waiting around. The usual fare to Kunlun Gardens is $300, but if you find a taxi with a Peace Fest sticker in the window, the rate is $250. If no such taxis are in the vicinity, then call 0934-278665 and ask to be picked up, for a $250 ride.
